“Amerimeri” — the Soliko Tsaishvili Natural Wine Festival and one of the year’s most exciting events for natural-wine enthusiasts — will once again be held in Tskaltubo on December 5. The festival will take place at the Legends Tskaltubo Spa Resort (23 Rustaveli St.Tskaltubo ). As is tradition, member wineries of the „Natural Wine Association„ will take part, presenting their wines to guests and offering tastings.

“Amerimeri” was first held in Kutaisi in 2017 and now marks its tenth anniversary. The original concept was to host the event in different viticulture and winemaking regions across Georgia, showcasing wines from every corner of the country. The inaugural Amerimeri took place in Kutaisi because, at that time, there was virtually no specialized natural-wine festival in western Georgia.

The festival continues to be held in Imereti; its primary goal is to make natural wine more accessible to wine lovers in western Georgia and to provide opportunities to meet and speak directly with natural winemakers. Amerimeri was not held for two years because of the coronavirus pandemic; the festival returned to Tskaltubo in 2022.

In 2024 the „Natural Wine Association „  decided to name the festival after Soliko Tsaishvili. This honors his exceptional contribution to wine culture. Soliko Tsaishvili was one of the initiators and founders of Amerimeri; he conceived the festival’s name and participated in the inaugural 2017 event with his own winery, Chveni Ghvino (Our Wine). Although Soliko died in 2018, the festival’s continued success remains closely linked to his legacy and his significant contributions to the field.

Every year Amerimeri brings together wine enthusiasts, winemakers, sommeliers, restaurant representatives, wine importers, and tourism professionals. The festival is a space not only for tasting but also for sharing experiences, ideas, and professional contacts.

The event showcases natural wines produced by small family wineries from across Georgia. Guests will have the opportunity to taste a wide range of varietals and styles in one setting, hear the story behind each wine directly from the winemakers, and learn about production methods and the philosophy that underpins natural winemaking.

The festival is also particularly appealing to newcomers to Georgian natural wine. At such events, guests can compare different wines, gain a better understanding of Georgian grape varieties, and meet the people personally involved in every stage of the winemaking process — from the vineyard to the bottle.
